I started my yoga journey in an Iyengar class, but it was only when pregnancy made sun salutations in flow classes impossible that I truly began to appreciate the adaptability of the Iyengar Yoga tradition. I was going into yoga-class-withdrawal with only one prenatal class a week when the teacher suggested that I could go to any Iyengar class and the teacher would be able to give me modifications for pregnancy. Several of the other women from the prenatal classes joined me and we'd set up a prenatal corner in regular Iyengar Yoga classes. I began studying massage therapy 5 years ago, as I was so often referring yoga students to get massages to address pain and stiffness. The detailed knowledge of anatomy that I have gained in over 20 years of yoga practice and teaching informs my massage technique.

Having suffered with migraines since childhood, I am skilled in relieving the chronic tension patterns of headaches and other chronic pain issues. As a Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor I specialize in adapting yoga to fit a student's individual needs. Through one-on-one private lessons and personalized small group sessions, I use props such as chairs, blankets, bolsters, blocks, and wall ropes to modify poses to find the best, most effective pose for each student. Yoga can improve strength and balance, provide relaxation and stress relief, and support your immune system.
