Black Diamond Middle School

Black Diamond Middle School serves the educational needs of students in grades six through eight. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,200 students and is a part of the Antioch Unified School District. It curriculum comprises subjects, such as English, history, science, math, physical education, computers, music, Spanish, applied technology, home economics and arts and crafts. The school s health and wellness program focuses on family life, alcohol, tobacco and drug education with an emphasis on abstinence and nonuse. The school train students as editors, reporters and layout designers through its publications class. It also provides a variety of extracurricular activities, such as orchestra, band and choir. Its Conflict Management is a peers helping peers program in which the personal talents of students on a school campus are utilized to help their fellow students learn lifelong skills to manage conflict in their lives. Black Diamond Middle School is located in Antioch, Calif.
