Belmont Finance Department

The Public Works Department is administered by the government of the City of San Mateo in California. It is responsible for the maintenance, repair, cleaning and installation city streets, traffic signal intersections and street lights. The department maintains more than 100 miles of storm drains and over 15 miles of open creeks and drainage canals. It also works for the maintenance and repair of sewers, dams, wastewater treatment plants, storm drainage system pump stations, and publicly owned parking lots and garages. The Public Works Department inspects the construction of public facilities and serves the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. In addition, it clears clogged ditches, as well as repairs roads, potholes, public alleys and bike paths.

The Hillsborough Police Department works to provide public safety services, preserve peace, and enforce local, state and federal laws. It operates patrol, investigation, administration and dispatch units. The department s communication division coordinates responses to calls and dispatches personnel for police and fire emergency and nonemergency services. The Hillsborough Police Department provides alarm monitoring and fingerprinting services, as well as conducts vacation home checks. It offers crime prevention and community awareness programs. The department also provides information regarding animal control, emergency preparedness, missing persons, and identity and mail theft.
