History

Bear Creek Recording Studio began in a cabin on a christmas tree farm on Bear Creek Road near Boulder Creek California. At that time we used a Tascam 8 track reel-to-reel recorder. Years later I bought Ike Turner's 16 track tape recorder which sounded great but behaved kind of like an old washing machine! In the mid 90s I built the current studio from the ground up on my land in Bonny Doon, California

We've been doing fine recording for over 35 years here in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We specialize in providing a relaxed yet efficient environment where all attention is on supporting you to be able to make the best possible recording you can make and have an enjoyable time doing it. We've recorded everything from folk, pop, rock, singer-songwriter, jazz, blue grass, funk, classical, reggae, country, blues, Irish, African, Latin, Baltic, In- donesian and Americana to children's, New Age, choral, spoken word, world beat, gospel, hip hop and more.
