Beacon School

Beacon School was founded in 1970 with the aim to expand educational opportunities for special education students. It specializes in preparing students to transition to public school and vocational opportunities. The school has more than 30 years of experience in special education. Credentialed teachers and Licensed Therapists give individualized instruction to every student. Beacon School provides therapeutic educational setting and safe supportive environment that helps each student to develop independent living skills, academic achievement consistent with his or her potential and the opportunity to gain maturity and judgment to be successful in daily living. A full curriculum is offered for students grades six through twelve and all students are encouraged to participate in prevocational and independent living skills course. The school also offers an elective course opportunity that includes woodshop, art, drama, guitar and percussion lessons and practical cooking skills. Beacon is located in San Jose, Calif.
