History
Mr. Basker grew up in a family that had a great love of music. They often attended live symphony orchestra concerts together. As a young boy, he was intrigued at how music brought his family closer. He believes that those early life experiences served as his initial inspiration and motivation to want to play a musical instrument. He began playing the flute at age 12 and has never stopped since. What he enjoys the most about teaching is watching a student take on the challenge of learning to play the flute or learning a new song and how they are transformed by the process in a positive way. As their technique and musicality improve, they become more confident and develop a deeper appreciation for music. They are then drawn to share their music with family and friends, who happily listen with eager anticipation and support.
