Bakersfield Condors

In 1940, Bakersfield Oilers became the area s first local ice hockey team to become a club squad, playing for the University of Southern California s varsity team. In 1998, the team s name changed to Bakersfield Condors. Bakersfield Condors is a member of the East Coast Hockey League, one of America s premier professional hockey leagues. The team strives to meet the educational, social, health and cultural needs of the community by offering resources and support for local youth-oriented and nonprofit organizations. Various team events include open-house and family day, skate with the Condors and other educational and fund-raising programs. The team s headquarters is in Bakersfield, Calif.
