We rejoice that Back Porch Bakery has returned to San Luis Obispo. The cinnamon breakfast buns and almond croissants are mind bloowingly over the top.

Back Porch Bakery, founded by Dan and Caroline Berkley in 2011, began as a community-driven venture in San Luis Obispo, California, where fresh breads and pastries were offered from their home. Over the years, the bakery has expanded to serve over 120 local restaurants, cafes, hotels, and markets along the California Central Coast, all while maintaining its spirit of community and connection.
In 2016, the bakery took a significant step by moving part of its wholesale operation into the historic Carlton Hotel in Atascadero, where they now operate a café. This transition has allowed them to reconnect with the local community and visitors, offering a warm and inviting space to enjoy their baked goods while experiencing the charm of the area.

We love Back Porch Bakery! My favorites are the spinach and cheese croissant and the pretzel. The morning bun is excellent too.

Great variety of croissants, and breads depending on time you go. Kind of tricky to find as directions send you to the back of FedEx. Go straight on Prado and turn into the gray and green striped...
