Bi-Valley Medical Clinic began to treat opiate addiction in 1980 when it took over a 150- patient methadone maintenance program from the University of California Davis, Medical Center. Bi-Valley treats more than 1,000 patients in its three outpatient treatment program facilities. Since 1980, Bi-Valley has developed a comprehensive array of addiction treatment services in addition to the methadone maintenance treatment program and 21-day medically supervised withdrawal programs. Bi-Valley s other programs include Buprenorphine, Prop 36 and pregnancy programs, psychiatric clinic and a Southeast Asian program. It also provides general medical screening and referral services for HIV and hepatitis C. Bi-Valley has been providing education and consultation to community agencies and local and state government regarding opiate addiction and methadone treatment as well as harm reduction approaches to drug policy. Bi-Valley is an active participant in the Clinical Trials Network which is sponsored by the National Institute of Drug Abuse. Bi-Valley Medical Clinic is located in Sacramento, Calif.
