AvocaToast! Los Angeles

History

Lizzy Cooper started AvocaToast in January 2017. She started out in one farmers market and is now in the Sunday Brentwood Farmers Market and does pop-ups all over Los Angeles. AvocaToast by Lizzy also caters events from small scale parties in the privacy of your own home to larger scale corporate/office/fundraising events. AvocaToast by Lizzy is Los Angeles' original and premiere avocado toast pop-up and catering operation, offering a variety of delicious and beautifully crafted gourmet avocado toasts and other Californian-inspired dishes. Each of Lizzy's toasts is unique, delicious and artfully crafted, piled high with creamy chunky avocado and fresh seasonal ingredients. Lizzy consider cooking an art, and there is nothing she enjoy more than creating dishes that are as beautiful as they are healthy and delicious. Before starting AvocaToast, Lizzy worked as a social worker for many years. She earned her Master of Social Welfare from UCLA in 2014 and subsequently worked as a social worker with some of LA's most disadvantaged populations. Lizzy did not want to abandon her social worker roots and passion for social justice when she opened her business, however, so she now runs it as a social enterprise, hiring graduates of InsideOut Writers, a creative writing program within LA's Central Juvenile Hall where Lizzy has taught every week for the last four years. You can find AvocaToast by Lizzy every Sunday at the Brentwood Farmers' Market 9am-2pm and the Hollywood Farmers' Market 8am-1pm.
