Avera Pharmaceuticals is a private pharmaceutical company focused on the acquisition, development and commercialization of novel pharmaceutical compounds in the neuroscience therapeutics arena. Avera's mission is to identify opportunities for therapeutic advances in the treatment of neurologic and psychiatric disorders and to license and develop compounds that can meet these needs. The company's initial focus of development is a series of neuromuscular blocking agents that were jointly discovered by GlaxoSmithKline and researchers at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
