Aurora School

Aurora is a nonprofit elementary school, located in Oakland, Calif. Aurora s professionally trained and experienced teachers and staff work closely with every child so individual student skills and needs are accurately understood. Aurora uses curriculum guidelines based on national learning standards and teacher experience to design and implement assessment integrated directly with instruction. The school does not use referenced standardized testing in measuring or evaluating children, or in designing the curriculum. Aurora s classes are multigraded. Its curriculum includes art, computer studies, drama, library sessions, music, movement exploration, rhythmic and games classes, Spanish and woodshops. It also provides boarding facilities, an enrichment program and various camps.
