Art Start

History

Artist Susan Bainbridge began teaching art in her children's classrooms to ensure that they received art in their schools. The students responded so favorably that she started Art Start, offering art lessons to small groups. In 1990 she began her art camp program, giving kids in North San Diego County exposure to a variety of art media and memorable summer art making experiences. Art Start has inspired kids throughout San Diego and Poway at public and private schools, home school groups, art camps, scout troops and birthday parties.

Specialties

Thousands of children have been introduced to the magic of art in Art Start classes and summer art camps offered at Old Poway Park and taught by artist Susan Bainbridge. Kids explore a variety of media as they draw, paint and sculpt. The fun and colorful projects appeal to children of all ages. Kids come to Art Start to make art but gain so much more; their confidence soars when they see their creations!
