Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary

The Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary, spanning 307 acres, is an innovative area combining a wastewater treatment facility with natural wetland processes. Located at the north end of Humboldt Bay along the Pacific Flyway, it serves as a critical habitat for over 300 bird species and attracts thousands of birdwatchers each year.

The sanctuary features approximately five miles of walking and biking paths, an Interpretive Center with interactive exhibits, and regular guided marsh walks led by volunteers.
