Casa Madrona, originally built in 1885 as an Italian Villa by lumber baron William G. Barrett, is a historic landmark located high above Sausalito. This beautifully designed home transitioned into a guest house in 1902 and has since evolved through various ownerships and functions, including a hotel, inn, and even rumored bordello over the years.
After a period of decline, Casa Madrona was revitalized in 1959 by Robert Henri and Marie-Louise Deschamps, who transformed it into the exclusive Le Vivoir Restaurant. Today, the property continues to honor its rich history while providing luxurious accommodations as the Casa Madrona Hotel Spa.
