Lisa N. Abaid, M.D., MPH, FACOG, FACS, is a gynecologic oncologist in Newport Beach and co-director of Gynecologic Oncology. She is also co-director for Hoag’s Breast & Ovarian Cancer Prevention Program. As such, she assists in developing and guiding treatment regimens tailored to “previvors,” women who have tested positive for a genetic mutation that increases their risk for breast and/or ovarian cancer. She provides comprehensive services for women at high-risk for gynecologic cancer, including pelvic exams, ultrasounds, surgery and medical management.As a gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Abaid treats cancers of the female pelvis, including ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancer. She has vast experience in robotic-assisted hysterectomy, radical hysterectomy, pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy, and oophorectomy. She attended medical school at the University of Miami and performed her residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Abaid’s fellowship sub-specialization in Gynecologic Oncology and Master’s of Public Health were also completed at the University of North Carolina.
