Animal Training with Wendy Jeffries

History

Wendy was training dolphin. sea lions and parrots in the 1970's-'80's. She has performed around the world. She still does macaw and cockatoo shows at local schools. Dog classes and private instruction in the Hemet area started 20+ years ago. She has been a Search and Rescue Dog handler for 25 years, is a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and volunteers with Love On A Leash therapy dogs.

Specialties

Reward based training for puppies through adults. Training is fun for the dog and the whole family! They learn sit, down, stay at doorways, off leash recalls, leisurely walk on loose leash, formal heel on leash with attention on handler. Training facility has indoor and fenced outdoor areas plus a complete AKC style agility field. Dogs get to proof their new obedience skills on a little agility....come when called through a tunnel....sit/down/stay on the table, walk on leash over jumps or the A-frame. Obedience + agility builds confidence in shy dogs and eager cooperation in bold dogs. Class includes learning polite socialization with dogs. Barkers discover they don't get to see the other dogs until they are quiet and working with their handler. Continue into Rally (intermediate obedience) Agility for competition or fun, pass the Canine Good Citizen test, Therapy Dog volunteering, Service Dog work or Search and Rescue participation.
