History

Jeff Cane's history (UK) is extremely 'entertaining & pioneering' but this section is for things US (e mail for more). AEILA came about when Jeff landed in LA and tried to figure out what was missing that he could create, a huge task but from little seeds... What he came up with in was Parchment Poetry - A 3 verse poem written about someones life as a gift, whilst this was a neat idea it was how he presented it that paved the way for the future... Out of nowhere came the ability to create 'parchment' that was so realistic to the middle ages that it was uncanny! This self taught medievalist (was he around 500 years ago?) created pieces so accurately that when he checked on a visit to The British Museum, his parchments could have been in their cases! In 1994 he had an epiphany moment and went to the UK to take his first photos of Angel statuary, an immediate success and still is! In 2011 he licensed his angels to successfully appear on a myriad of household items. The rest... is history!

Specialties

We can cater to ANY taste for artwork that you can imagine, from Pop to Pompeii, hand-made & presented on aged wood tablets, tiles ceramic or old & very realistic parchment. We have an extensive range of original whimsical children's art. When we make it 'old' it looks like it belongs in a museum. The company's main focus is Jeff Cane's photographic series 'A Place of Angels' - shot in Europe over the past 18 years and presented on all artifacts including scented candles & greeting cards. Personalization is a big part of AEILA especially in the areas of Marriage, Birth, Christening & any celebratory event. We create wonderfully romantic heirloom pieces that many families over the years proudly posses. AEILA has been commissioned by LACMA, featured product in Neiman Markus, had two major articles in the LA Times & sold & worked with a host of celebrity clients, not for nothing did a client quote:
