AMI Housing, Inc. (AMIH) is a California 501c3 non-profit corporation that provides housing, employment, and life skills programs to vulnerable residents of Placer Nevada County, with a focus on those who may be homeless or at risk of homelessness. With a mission to house and support the most vulnerable residents of the Sierra Region, AMIH manages and operates the Nevada County Housing Development Corporation, offering permanent, bridge, and low-income affordable housing to over 400 individuals every night.
Founded in 1992 through a collaboration between the National Alliance for Mental Illness - Placer County and the Placer County Mental Health Department, AMIH has been dedicated to providing safe homes and compassionate assistance to individuals with mental illness. In 2003, AMIH received its 501c3 designation and expanded its operations to include homes in Roseville, Rocklin, and Auburn. In 2017, AMIH's board of directors acquired the operations of Nevada County Housing Development Corporation, further strengthening their ability to address the housing needs of the community. Through their efforts, lives are changed as they strive to ensure a safe home for everyone in the Sierra Region.
