WIC was established as a permanent program in 1974 to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk. WIC helps families combat food insecurity and nutrition-related health problems, including obesity and type 2 diabetes. WIC is also the largest public breastfeeding promotion program in the nation, providing mothers with education and support.
The Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program is a supplemental nutrition program to help pregnant women, infants and children (up to age five) eat well, stay healthy and be active. At no cost to you, WIC provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, groceries and community resources. All staff members at this location are Certified Lactation Educators. Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Russian, French and Finnish translators are also available. Other language translation services are offered by phone.
