Alternative Family Service

Alternative Family Services (AFS) is a collaborative project in Oakland, CA, providing a range of services for parents and children who have been separated. The Gathering Place, a part of AFS, offers a safe and family-friendly environment where therapeutic, supervised, and observed visits can take place, aiming to maintain family attachments during this challenging period of separation.

The Gathering Place features age-appropriate visiting rooms, outdoor areas, and community-based visitation experiences. Additionally, it offers a full kitchen and dining room for parents to cook and eat with their children, as well as a guest lounge and library with computer and Wi-Fi access.
