The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, founded in 1988, has preserved over 1,700 acres of open spaces on the Peninsula, including the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve which spans 1,400 acres with over 30 miles of trails through rolling hills, steep canyons, and rock outcrops.
Through cooperative efforts with public and private partners, the Conservancy manages the Preserve according to guidelines outlined in the Natural Communities Conservation Planning program, providing valuable refuges and wildlife corridors for animal and plant inhabitants while allowing compatible economic activity.
