Alta Mesa Elementary School

Alta Mesa Elementary School provides educational programs to students from kindergarten through grade five and is located in Redding, Calif. It offers sport activities, such as cross country, soccer, basketball, softball and volleyball. Its garden club offers opportunities to learn about gardening, landscaping and environmental issues. Its reading programs includes systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics and spelling, reading naturally, picture phonics and Marty s family reader. It also provides students after-school care, homework assistance, tutoring and a variety of fun activities. It offers Title I math program for students in grades four and five. Its parent-teacher booster club includes parents and staff meeting monthly to coordinate school-community programs. The group organizes annual carnivals, fundraisers and events to increase student-parent involvement in school-related events.
