Almaden Country School, founded by Nan Hunter, offers early childhood, elementary and middle school education. The early childhood curriculum is a developmental program based on a sequence of skills. The elementary school curriculum involves classes in art, science, French, physical education, music and drama besides basic subjects of language arts, mathematics and social studies. The school offers English language, mathematics, social studies, science and physical education as a part of its middle school education. The institute provides after-school childcare through its Apple Orchard extended care program. Almaden Country School also has partnership with a private catering company to provide lunch choices. The school is located in San Jose, Calif.
