Sewer System Management Plan The District has established an excellent record of environmental compliance since its formation in 1959. It has built, operated, maintained, and managed sewer infrastructure for fifty years and compiled a reputation for not only preventing sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) but minimizing their volume with timely response by on-call staff who are properly trained and equipped for these events. A part of the District's regulatory requirements is to development a Sewer System Management Plan, or SSMP, to facilitate the proper funding and management of sanitary sewer systems.
