Alameda County Court Appointed Special Advocates (ACCASA) is a dedicated organization that recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the foster care system. As a member of the National CASA GAL Association, ACCASA has been instrumental in ensuring the security and well-being of over two million children across the United States. Through compassionate guidance, advocacy, and information, ACCASA volunteers forge lasting bonds with the children, expanding their world through enriching experiences and helping them transition into successful adulthood.

Established in 1987, ACCASA's mission is to promote and support quality volunteer advocates who speak up for the rights of abused and neglected children in the dependency court system. With a rich history rooted in the CASA movement, which began in 1977, ACCASA strives to provide crucial information to judges making decisions on behalf of vulnerable children. By having a trusted mentor in their corner, every child can have the champion they need to navigate the complex foster care system and thrive.
