Founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Abra Rudisill, Alameda Civic Ballet and its affiliate school, Alameda Ballet Academy, aim to uphold the classical ballet tradition in the East Bay community. The nonprofit organization provides local dance students with opportunities to perform alongside professionals and presents quality, accessible ballet performances to the public.
Led by Ms. Rudisill, a former Prima Ballerina and Ballet Mistress with Oakland Ballet, the academy and company strive to pass on a rich artistic lineage to Bay Area youth. Staff is terrible with children and are arrogant with parents. Children are not allowed to take a quick break for water. Horrible experience every time we go. DO NOT GO HERE
