Founded in 1991, Agua Caliente Cultural Museum preserves and interprets the history and culture of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Located in Palm Springs, Calif., the museum organizes several online and off-site exhibitions, lectures, film festivals and other cultural special events. It showcases more than 400 items, featuring the works of Cahuilla basket weavers and their neighboring tribes. The cultural museum also exhibits cooking pots, pendants, pipes, bone tools and stone utensils. Agua Caliente Cultural Museum is a part of the Smithsonian Institution Affiliations Program.
