Adam is a master craftsmen and knows what he is doing. I've worked with Adam multiple times and he has revived my 1970's bass back to playable condition by adding a shim and adjusting the neck....

After graduating from Berklee School of Music and moving to SF, Adam combined gigging and teaching and has worked with music stores in Pinole, Dublin and Oakland since 1993. Adam added repair to his repertoire, and has now opened his own little shack, specializing in string instrument repairs, lessons and vintage sales.

Adam's String Shack is now located at 4444 Piedmont Ave Oakland inside of Mountain Music Store. We offer all kinds of string instrument repair: guitar repairs, ukulele repairs, bass repairs, violin repairs, etc. Inside of Mountain Music Store, you can also find music lessons taught at every level, as well as rentals and vintage gear for sale! From storage to stage we specialize in high quality repairs.

I bought a new guitar at GC and had them set it up, never really played it because the action was horrible, brought it to Adam and now it plays great! expert work and good prices, love this shop!
