HistoryOur founder, Greer Kirshenbaum PhD, is very proud to be the first Neuroscientist Doula! Transforming lives by improving health is her life's work and passion. For over 15 years, in academic neuroscience laboratories, Greer studied how genetics and experience shape the brain, nervous system and body to influence lifelong mental and physical health. With a deep love and commitment to this work she earned competitive grants and published numerous articles to develop novel treatments for illness. Over time in the lab Greer became increasingly inspired to bring existing powerful knowledge to families, because what we currently know has tremendous power to transform lives, minds and health and make the world a better place for future generations. Our mission is to bring neuroscience research to families so they can use sound science to enhance every single day of their children's lives.SpecialtiesNurture Neuroscience is a movement to transform infant health. We are led by Greer Kirshenbaum PhD, a neuroscientst and birth doula. We enrich brain development in pregnancy and infancy, by providing consulations, workshops and support for familes throughout pregnancy and infancy. We enrich brain development in birth by providing birth doula support and preparing familes for birth.
