He is an accomplished musician with a degree in music from UC Berkley. He did his pre-medical studies at Mills College and his Medical Doctorate at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He attended UC Davis for his Residency in Ophthalmology and then did his Fellowship training in Oculoplastic and Facial Plastic Surgery at the Beaumont Eye Institute.

In his more than two decades of practice, Dr. Abroms has performed tens of thousands of vision correction and ocular reconstructive procedures including cataract surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK), strabismus (crossed-eyes) surgery, eyelid surgery, Botox injections, pterygium surgery, glaucoma surgery, and many types of laser procedures. In addition to being referred patients from doctors throughout a large geographic region, numerous doctors have chosen Dr. Abroms to manage their own eye conditions and perform eye surgery on both themselves and their own family members.
