Located on the south side of Engineering III at the University of California, Davis, Academic Surge is home to various computer labs primarily utilized by civil engineering students, as well as the Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology department. The building, characterized by its plain exterior and industrial architectural style, houses several institutes such as the Institute for Data Analysis and Visualization and the Bohart Museum of Entomology.

In addition to its academic functions, Academic Surge features the Energy Efficiency Center, the Engineering Student Startup Center, and the Ragle Center for Nutrition Department clinical studies.
