History
A third generation craftsman, Aaron built his first commissions in 1997 while still in Davis, CA. After moving to San Francisco, Aaron apprenticed for two years as a cabinetmaker under the tutelage of an excellent teacher and woodworker. Leaving the City for a time, Aaron designed and built furniture abroad in Austria. Upon his return, Aaron continued to hone his craft until starting AO Design in 2004. Since, Aaron has collaborated with interior designers, architects, contractors and directly with clients to create unique pieces.
Specialties
Aaron Ottinger Design specializes in custom interiors, from free-standing furniture to built-in cabinetry. Primarily a wood shop, we sub-contract metal, glass, upholstery and finishing to complete any project. With AO Design, clients benefit from Aaron's 15 years of excellent craftsmanship and fine attention to detail, with a thoughtful, personal connection to the client and their space, aesthetic and budget.
