The North Entry Parking Structure, also known as the Memorial Union parking garage, is located just outside the Unitrans area of the UC Davis campus. Opened in 1992, it was the first parking structure on campus and is notable for its unique architectural design, which some liken to the Death Star.
Originally illuminated with white lighting that highlighted its green glass panels, the structure now features yellow bulbs, changing its nighttime glow. The top floor offers a prime viewing spot for fireworks on the Fourth of July, while insider reports suggest that it is often home to groups doing doughnuts in protest of the parking situation.
