Justus Ramsey House

The Justus Ramsey Stone House, located at 252 West 7th Street in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is one of the oldest known houses still standing in the city and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1855-57, this Greek Revival style home was originally owned by Justus Cornelius Ramsey, a prominent settler in Saint Paul with ties to the Minnesota Territorial Legislature. Throughout its history, the house has been occupied by notable figures such as Robert A. Smith, a key government official in St. Paul, and the Munger brothers who were instrumental in the music scene of the late 19th century. The house also played a significant role in housing early African American citizens of Saint Paul, including George and Maria Perkins, who lived there from 1900 to 1908.Generated from the website
