The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, also known as UAMS, has more than 2,500 students in over five academic units. It offers interactive video education and medical consultation services to community hospitals. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences manages a library and bookstore. The university operates the College of Medicine and the College of Nursing. Its outpatient clinics provide treatment for cancer and psychiatric conditions.
