Ozark Independent Living, located in West Plains, Mo., is an independent living center for persons with disabilities. It is a nonprofit center that receives grants from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Vocational Rehabilitation of Missouri. The center s Consumer Directed Services Program includes personal assistance services, such as meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation and personal grooming. Ozark Independent Living also provides the Telecommunication Access Program that includes basic voice telephone calling services and offers voice carry over, amplified, hands-free and photo phones. In addition, it provides various other assistive devices, including hand-held showers, grab bars, and wheel and shower chairs. The center offers in-home care services through its agency, Independent-In Home Services.

The White River Area Agency on Aging provides eldercare services to seniors aged 60 and above in 10 counties in north central Arkansas. The agency provides services to senior citizens of all income levels. Its staff of trained care managers, registered nurses and home care assistants work to meet the individual needs of each client. The White River Area Agency on Aging is a nonprofit organization that coordinates aging resources; maintains a network of senior centers and Meals-On-Wheels programs; and extends knowledge of senior citizens rights, Medicare, Social Security and other aging resources. The agency offers apartments that each contain a cook stove, refrigerator, smoke detector, fire extinguisher, emergency call switch and laundry room access, as well as a separate heating and cooling system. Its home care assistants help individuals with bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation and housekeeping. The White River Area Agency on Aging also coordinates transportation for shopping and other activities. The agency maintains a location in Batesville, Ark.
