And your therapist stays in touch with your doctor to keep him or her apprised of your progress, adjusting treatment when necessary and correcting problems if they arise. To be referred to the clinic for outpatient physical therapy, you will need a prescription from your doctor. This can be mailed, faxed, or hand-carried to the clinic.
