More than 55 years ago, Keith Smith Company started selling hatching eggs in the back room of a local Hot Springs, Ark., warehouse. The company is one of the largest, independent producers of broiler hatching eggs in North America. It has grown not only to be an industry leader in the broiler hatching egg business, but also to diversify to meet the needs of the poultry business going on to both owned and operated pullet farms and feed mills. With no exposure to commercial operations or broiler processing plants and a limited amount of broilers and other breeders in the area, KSC minimizes the risk of exposure to other poultry operations and possible disease breakouts. With more than 1 million breeders in production, the company produces a volume of premium hatching eggs that allows it the flexibility to meet the needs of customers by breed, quality and quantity.
