Since 1946, the Humane Society of Pulaski County in Little Rock, Arkansas has been a vital force in caring for domestic animals in Central Arkansas. Operating as a private, donation-supported, no-kill shelter, they rescue, rehabilitate, provide veterinary care, spay/neuter, and facilitate the adoption of dogs and cats in need.
With no city, county, or state funding, and no affiliation with other organizations, the Humane Society of Pulaski County relies solely on donations, fundraisers, bequests, and grants to continue their mission. The shelter takes in animals from overcrowded city and county shelters, owner surrenders, abused and injured pets, and strays, providing a safe haven for approximately 200 animals at any given time.
Recognized as Arkansas’ only 4-star rated animal welfare charity by Charity Navigator, the Humane Society of Pulaski County upholds fiscal responsibility, transparency, and dedication to their cause. Donors can trust that their contributions are utilized thoughtfully to support the shelter’s operations and care for the animals in need.
