The Norfork National Fish Hatchery, established in 1957, is dedicated to the production and conservation of cold-water fish species, primarily focusing on trout for restocking efforts in the tailwaters of Norfork and Bull Shoals dams. As part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the hatchery plays a vital role in preserving aquatic resources for current and future generations, collaborating with state agencies to enhance fish populations across Arkansas and surrounding states.

Visitors to the hatchery can explore its 96 outdoor raceways, observe various stages of trout production in the hatch house, and engage with informative displays at the visitors' center. The facility also offers fishing opportunities on Dry Run Creek, making it an ideal destination for families and fishing enthusiasts alike.

For a small fee you can drive and walk through this refuge. I would have liked to see the walking trails marked better the roadways are clearly marked and I think some of this area got hot hard...
