Ultimately, I started nursing as a pediatric nurse, and I really love that. I decided to go back to nurse Practitioner school because I felt like I could do more for my patients as a nurse practitioner. I really fell in love with health promotion and disease prevention. So it's not a surprise that I jumped into genetic oncology. Because of that, my primary function is to follow patients who have previously tested positive for pathogenic mutations often associated with various types of cancer.
