Duffer's Cafe

History

Opening in 1996 in Town Center in Bella Vista, Duffer's soon became well-known among residents, and visitors seemed to return each chance they got. When the location changed in 2001 to about 3 miles West of Town Center on hwy 340 (Lancashire), business slowed until people re-found us. Included in our history has to be the number of golf groups that come from Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Missouri and Illinois that we see each year. Part of the history is the number of long-time employees - you come back a year later and you'll see someone who recognizes you. Our menu evolves as we try items on our noon specials. Example: our chicken-avocado-bacon is now on our menu as a result of encouraging comments when tried several noons.

Specialties

We are located is a strip mall about 3 miles West of Town Center. We open Monday - Saturday at 8:00 am and close at 2:00 pm, breakfast is served all day & lunch starting at 11:00 a.m. & Sunday for Brunch 10:00am - 3:00pm. Our biscuits and sausage gravy and quiche are available all day. An example of one of our popular breakfasts (besides the eggs-toast-hashbrowns-meat) is the biscuit opened up loaded with scrambled egg, sausage gravy and shredded cheddar. At lunchtime, we are known for our hamburgers (with the best fries around), patty melts, Reubens, and our new chicken avocado sandwich. Our bakers are busy baking a variety of cookies, muffins, danishes, and cinnamon rolls and on most Saturdays we have addicting stickybuns. Our carrot cake or bread pudding (with a sauce made from an old family recipe) are popular desserts. While we do not take reservations, we seat larger groups if we are notified in advance. This is a place out-of-towners seem to repeatedly visit. There are no strangers at Duffer's.
