University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, established in 1879 is part of the University of Arkansas System. It offers educational and practical programs in various medical fields, such as research, surgery and nursing. Located in Little Rock, Ark., it enrolls more than 2,000 students in over five academic units. It has several educational institutions, such as the colleges of medicine, pharmacy, nursing, health-related professions, and public health and the graduate school.
