Established in 1986, Cal-Maine Foods is one of the largest producers and marketers of shell eggs in the United States. It grades, packs and distributes products in more than 25 U.S. states, as well as throughout the Midwestern and mid-Atlantic regions. The company markets products under the Egg-Land s Best and Farmhouse brands. Its clients include grocery store chains, club stores, foodservice distributors and egg product manufacturers. With annual sales of over 685 million dozens of shell eggs, the company has a staff of nearly 1,600 employees. It operates several farms, hatcheries, feed mills and warehouses nationwide. The company has a fleet of approximately 260 tractors and more than 450 trailers, as well as feed delivery and pickup trucks. Cal-Maine Foods maintains processing plants in Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah.
