Butler Sr. Its mission is to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of Arkansas's history, literature, art, and culture through extensive research collections and public access to over 10 million documents and photographs related to the state's history.

Located within the Bobby L. Roberts Library of Arkansas History and Art, the Butler Center collaborates with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Center for Arkansas History and Culture.
