Chartered on March 1, 1898, the Bank of Gravett is the oldest bank in Benton County, Ark. The bank has been in continuous operation throughout all the intervening years except when all banks were ordered closed by the federal government in the banking crisis of 1933. It opened with $25,000 in capital stock. By the end of 2004, the bank had total resources of $223 million. Checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, loans and money market deposit accounts are offered at the bank. The Bank of Gravett is spelled without the e while the town it is located in is Gravette, Ark. Originally, both the bank and town were spelled Gravett.
