Established in 1962, Data-Tronics is a subsidiary of Arkansas Best Corporation (ABC), a diversified holding company of several subsidiaries. Data-Tronics assists other ABC subsidiaries as a provider of information technology solutions. The firm also offers its services outside of the corporate family. With more than 250 employees at its location in Fort Smith, Ark., Data-Tronics designs, programs and maintains business application software and hardware systems. Applications are developed for Internet, mainframe, client/server and personal computer environments. Headquartered in Fort Smith, Arkansas Best Corporation also owns ABF Freight System, Clipper Express Company and FleetNet America. ABC s corporate history dates back to the beginning of its largest subsidiary, ABF Freight System, which began in 1923.
