Word is Art, located in the historic ghost town of Jerome, Arizona, is the studio gallery of contemporary visionary artist Beth Courtright Detwiler. Utilizing a variety of media, including chalk pastel, oil paint, ceramics, and hand-painted masking tape, she creates simplistic imagery that serves as iconic symbols inspired by nature, spiritual pursuits, and daily human life.

Detwiler's work draws influence from 20th Century Modern Art as well as artwork from Ancient and Primitive Cultures. Her creative processes are reflected in her diverse projects, including murals, mosaics, and community art initiatives, all celebrated in the unique environment of the Old Jerome High School.
