Western International University, headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, operated from 1978 until its closure in February 2019, having been regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The university ceased enrolling new students in March 2017 and developed a teach-out plan to support current students in completing their education or transferring to other institutions.
Following its closure, the University of Phoenix became the custodian of official student records for Western International University and has partnered with Parchment Inc. to provide access to student transcripts. Former students can request their transcripts through Parchment, which requires account creation and a processing fee.
